Eco(nomy) Christmas

My Eco Self is looking for tips for a money-saving Christmas in the kitchen. Do you have any ideas? A cheaper alternative to turkey? Good ideas for leftovers? Telling the relatives to stay at home?

Any ideas welcome.

Just turn the lights off and pretend you're out (when the relies call!) Oh, and make your own presents! (Seriously - Sally's publishing a book - cost £2 - on Lulu and giving a copy to everyone. That's her Christmas shopping done!)

Having everyone bring a dish to pass is a big help. They can then use the dish to divvy up food after the meal so that nothing goes to waste.
